It was wonderful to see the children so enthused by our Big Problem! They loved applying their recent learning of area and perimeter in order to design a wildlife garden for the Royal Horticultural Society.
Today, we explored the concept of area by using rulers to draw different shapes with different areas.
At Forest School, we worked together to create air raid shelters. We even got inside quickly when we heard the air raid siren!
In Learning Mission, we have been learning about World War 2 and  The Battle of Britain. The children were very interested to find out more about The Blitz and loved using their knowledge to create some wonderful art work.
This week in gymnastics, we developed our core strength and flexibility by practicing and performing a range of key skills.
In Forest School, we developed our team work skills by solving a variety of problems.
In music with Mrs Watkinson, we created different pitches using a variety of instruments.
Our Arithmetic Clinic this week has focused on concepts we found tricky in last week’s paper. The children now feel confident when finding fractions of an amount and dividing and multiplying by 10, 100, or 1000 and were able to complete the dominoes puzzle successfully.
To launch our new Learning Mission, we thoroughly enjoyed our ‘Now Press Play’ experience and exploring life as a child during World War 2!
