This week in English, the children explored Holy Week and carefully considered how Mary, Jesus’ Mother, would’ve felt during the different events that took place. We used this to help us write diary entries for each day, from her perspective. Their final pieces of writing are just incredible, fantastic work Chestnut Class.

This afternoon, we looked at some quotes from the Bible that refer to Jesus’ resurrection, discussed their meaning and used them to inspire our artwork!

To celebrate the start of RE week, we had a wonderful afternoon reading the Easter Story, discussing the main events during Holy Week and decorating Easter story wheels.

Year 4 have been so inspired by ‘The Wild Robot’ and thoroughly enjoyed creating a third person narrative about Roz’s adventures.

This afternoon in music, Chestnut Class created some fantastic music sequences that involved different pitched sounds. They listened really carefully whilst other children performed their pieces, well done Chestnuts!

Chestnut Class really enjoyed their active break this afternoon! A circuit inspired workout with Dave from Skip2Bfit helped us to feel refreshed and ready to learn again!

Today, during Arithmetic Clinic, we have been focusing on our 6 times table. The children have blown me away by how quickly and confidently they can recall this times table!

This week in PE with JD, we participated in a number of fun games that allowed us to work on our team work skills. We also discussed strategies and tactics in order to be the team who gathered the most cones. It was wonderful to see so many happy and active children this afternoon!

Today we celebrated International Women’s Day and the landing of NASA’s Perseverance Rover by learning about Valentina Tereshkova. We explored her early life and what inspired her to become to first woman in space!
