This week in Learning Mission, we have been finding out what life would have been like for an Anglo-Saxon. We have learnt about their social hierarchy, explored houses and created a feast including foods that would have been eaten during this era!

In Learning Mission, we have been exploring why the Anglo-Saxon’s invaded. For our focus task, we imagined that we were Anglo-Saxons writing diaries, explaining our reasons for coming to Britain. We also looked at Anglo-Saxon weapons and sketched them in such beautiful detail.
Our Collective Worship theme has been remembrance. We have discussed what remembrance is, why it takes place and what it means to us. Here is our philosophy book with our reflections:
After looking closely at Anglo-Saxon brooches and their intricate details, we created our own using clay! We also decorated the letter of our first names in Anglo-Saxon style.
Today, we welcomed the ‘Concentration Characters’ into Chestnut Class! They will sit with children who are concentrating on their learning, working hard and showing a positive attitude!
