This afternoon, the children in Chestnut Class debated if it was fair that some people had access to clean, fresh water whilst others did not. Some fantastic points were raised and the children listened very carefully to each other.

This afternoon, we loved learning about the water cycle during our Big Idea lesson. We created water cycles in bags, labelled diagrams of the water cycle and wrote stories as if we were Drip (a water droplet who experiences evaporation, condensation, precipitation and surface run off!)
After attaching some of our bags to the window, we were very excited about observing some of the processes we had learnt about.
Today in English, there were lots of great discussions about our text ‘The BFG.’ The children made connections between characters, places and significant events in the story and were able to successfully draw inferences about different characters and their feelings. We worked really well with our peers and developed our speaking and listening skills.
Today we explored the school playground for objects that had similar properties to 3D shapes. We recorded our findings in a table.
This week we became scientists! We discussed what science meant to us and looked at scientific symbols and pictures. We then sketched these ideas into our sketch books before transferring our designs onto our lab coats. We can’t wait to wear them when we are carrying out investigations and experiments!
