We decided to created a home fit for a Bowtruckle on Thursday. We researched together what a Bowtruckle would need to survive and then created his own little home to entice him back into school.

Andy Goldsworthy art!
On Monday we went into forest School to create some natural art after researching about the famous artist, Andy Goldsworthy. Here is what we created…
Melting!
We had great fun on Thursday afternoon observing the melting process with chocolate. We created some chocolate flavoured food to entice the bowtruckle back into the class.
Forest School Fun!
We we loved working in small groups identifying trees using our sense of touch. We blindfolded a partner then directed them carefully to a tree, we then returned to the starting point and took the blindfold off. We had great fun finding that tree again!

Chestnut class were set the challenge of making the tallest tower that could hold a frisbee. As you can see there were plenty of imaginative ways to support the frisbee. Well done Gracie, Yolanda, Daisy and Pippa who won the competition.
OUTSTANDING!!!
Chestnut class were so proud of themselves on Friday when they found out that they are officially ‘Outstanding’. However we did know this already because of the work they produce and how fantastic their attitudes are. Happy Friday!!!
Making it rain in the classroom!
Chestnut class were set the challenge of making it rain in the classroom. After learning about the water cycle, we came up with a great way of making it rain. We understood that we needed precipitation, evaporation and condensation for this to work.
Magic Wand pencils!
On Thursday afternoon, as part of our Big Idea ‘Its a kind of Magic’, we thought it would be great to make our very own magical wand pencils.
To do this we used a glue gun, which we were quite apprehensive about using. However we were very careful and we managed it fine. We’re looking forward to using them next week!

Mark the Magician!
We took great inspiration from Mark who came in to show off his amazing magical talents! Following the show on Tuesday we went straight back into class to practise our own magic tricks…we soon learnt how hard it is to perform magic!!
